Jan-Willem Boer

Jan-Willem Boer, a native of The Netherlands, is best known for his bright, semi-realistic oil and acrylic paintings of city and highway scenes, as well as empty landscapes with a past and local Shenandoah Vallery scenes. He studied art at the Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam and worked in the USA for many years as a commercial illustrator and graphic designer. He has exhibited widely. Boer and his wife, Nancy, operate the Shenandoah Art Destination at their B&B. He is an Adjunct Professor of graphic design at Southern Virginia University in Buena Vista, Virginia.
